Are you a lawn guy? Is your perfect Kentucky bluegrass your pride and joy and the envy of all the neighborhood, or are your flowerbeds the talk of the town? Have you spent countless hours designing and maintaining your landscape?
If so, one of the most heartbreaking moments you may face as a homeowner is the dreaded realization that you need to replace your sewer line. If you had a line break, need to replace the pipes because of extreme weather, or even just normal wear and tear, the expense can be astronomical. When you calculate the thousands spent on labor, the time it takes to replace your system, the loss of comfort during this transition, and the painstaking months getting your lawn back into tip top shape. You may be having nightmares of a large crew of plumbers digging up your driveway, yard, and yes, your prized lawn too…but never fear lawn guy, at Drain Tech, we offer a different kind of solution.
Its called Trenchless Sewer Repair or pipe lining. The key word here is ¨trenchless.¨ No more digging up that beautiful expanse of green to fix your sewer system, folks! But what exactly is this magic method?
Trenchless Sewer repair is a type of pipe relining also known as Cured In Place Pipe relining that basically uses a high quality resin to repair your pipes from the inside. The process is fairly simple:
One of our certified Drain Techs will find an insertion point (usually through a clean-out pipe but occasionally from digging a single hole to access a pipe) and insert a pipe lining into the system, which will be coated with the resin and left to cure inside the pipes. The curing process normally takes just a few short days, and then your plumbing nightmare is over!
This process has many benefits over the traditional dig and replace method for pipe repair including the following:
- It saves you money by avoiding the costs of a large crew needed for underground work and the aftercare costs associated with repairing your landscape.
- It reduces the amount of time needed to complete the job, in most cases trenchless repair can be completed in days rather than 4-6 weeks for traditional dig and replace methods.
- Your new pipes are going to be extremely durable. We use Nu Flows epoxy resin which was originally used by the US Navy and has an estimated lifespan of 50 years or more.
- Much less invasive on your property, avoids digging up your driveway, old pipes, and yes, it saves your prized lawn from extensive damage.
